ANALYZE

　ブログラのバナーサーバが集計時に異様に重くなることに気づいた。いや、実際にはバナーサーバが参照しているPostgreSQLのDBサーバが重い模様。サーバ交換をして一定期間（2週間）が経って現れた現象で、単純に考えればアクセス数が増えた等の理由かと思ったけど、実際にそこまでアクセス数が伸びているわけではなかったので頭を抱えてしまった。最初はハードの原因を疑ったけど、オヤジ（プログラマ）が「そういえば1回もANALYZEしてないや」ということに気づき、早速ANALYZE。すると、翌日の集計時の負荷は格段に減る結果に。

　DBの増え方が尋常じゃないのでVACCUME ANALYZEとか気軽にできなかったのですが、ANALYZEだけでも十分効果があることが判明。うーん、まだまだ大規模運用のコツがつかめてないなぁ。

shared_buffers = 32MB

　なんか、ブログラのロギングデータベースサーバの動きが妙なので色々調べていると8.1.3のshared_buffersの項目の異変に気づく。

shared_buffers = 32MB # min 128kB or max_connections*16kB

ん？　なんか違和感があるなぁ。そう思って古めの奴を見てみると、

shared_buffers = 1000 # min 16, at least max_connections*2, 8KB each

おほ？　やっぱ値が全然違うっていうか単位が違う気がする。なんだろー、なんだろー？？？　ちょっと、これは深そうなのでGW明けに調べる。

非ブロードバンド

　今もそうなのですが、ここのところ社外からのネットアクセスの機会が多く、そのたびにブロードバンドのありがたみを再認識させられます。メールとかはまだしも、最近のWebサイトって当たり前のように画像はあるし、下手したら動画広告みたいなのまでありやがって、全然表示されない。

　Willcomを使用しているのですが、256kbpsって意外と遅いんですよね。そういう意味では、イーモバイルは気になるのですが、私がメインで使用するエリアは当然エリア外。下手したらWillcomでさえ入りにくい場所でもありますからね。

　なかなか難しい話かもしれないけど、サーキットでのネットアクセスを全面的に可能にしたい。Ｆ１はもちろんですが、最近ではSuperGTでもライブタイミングを提供してくれますからね。レース中の情報提供インフラとしては絶対的に有利だと思います。サーキットという限られた空間ではありますが、インフラ事業となるとなかなか手を出せない。だいたい、一年に数回のことですしね。うーん、簡単じゃないなぁ、いろいろ。

　とか、朝っぱらからひと仕事終えて、ひとエントリ。

Postgresql

なんか、このブログの管理画面に入れないなぁと思ってログをチェックすると、なにやら穏やかじゃない状態だったようだ。でもって、その結果Postgresqlが死んでしまったみたい。原因はスパムトラックバック。もー、本当にどうしようもないなぁ。対策を考えねば、、、。

いやーん、namedも死んでるよ、、、。

ついに来ました！　が、どのミラーも激重状態なので、DL&INSは週明けかなぁ。昨日届いたクアッドにはCentOS4.4を入れてPostgreSQLもコンパイル済みでしたが、CentOS5に入れ替えちゃえ宣言。しかし、CD-ROM 7枚ってスゴイ量だな。

クローラーのDNS

　昨日、サーバ移転したサイトがあるのですが、さっき旧サーバのログを見てみたら面白かった。なんか、旧サーバにはクローラーしか来ていないのね。TTLが微妙な長さだったけど、既にそれも切れてるはずなので通常運用のDNSでは旧サーバを返さないはずなんだよねー。クローラーが使ってるDNS、もしくはクローラーが独自に名前解決してるのかもしれないんだけど、そのあたりの問題なのでしょうな。

　もう、落としちゃっていいのですが、このあともいつまでクローラーが来るのか興味があるので、しばらく立てておこう。

Postfixも新バージョンリリース

　基本的にqmailな文化なのですが、最近はPostfixもいじりたい君。

シェア急伸中のMTA「Postfix」の最新安定版がリリース

じっくり使ってみたいMTAではある。うちの会社では運用系はやっぱqmailなのですが、単にサーバで動かすMTAとしてのシェアは徐々に伸びつつある。

Bind 9.4 リリース

　そういえば、確かにBindはここのところバージョンアップしていませんでしたね。

性能を強化した DNS サーバーの新版『BIND 9.4』が登場

ゾーンを持っているDNSを変えるわけにはいけないのですが、とりあえずキャッシュサーバに試しに入れてみようかねぇ。

VPNの謎

　今、滋賀で行われている言語処理学会に来ているのですが、最近の学会ってのは便利でして必ずネットアクセスができるようになっているのですよね。で、そのネットワークから事務所にVPN経由で接続をするわけですが、VPN接続をしているとネットにもアクセスできないしメールも送れ無くなっちゃうのですよね。はじめは、この学会のネットワークの問題でできないのかと思ったのですが、ふと気づいたんですよ。繋がらないんじゃ無くって、単にDNSが引けていないだけだって。

　ちょっとWindowsのネットワークに疎いので下手なこと書けないのですが、たぶんこういう展開なんだと思います。

　状況はこんな感じ。

1.学会のネットに接続
2.VPN接続
3.ネットアクセス
4.DNSで名前解決
[ここで止まっちゃう]

で、DOSでnslookupしても引けないですよ。なんでかなーって思案していたのですが、結論から言えば学会ネットワークのDNSが拒否ってるわけでしてその原因がVPNしたときに割り振られるIPを何故だかDNSの問い合わせの際につかっちゃってて、DNSのcacheサーバの設定でresolveを拒否っているのでは、という結論。VPNを切断すると名前解決できるからね。

　でで、そもそもVPN接続してるのにVPN経由じゃないネットワークのDNSを見に行っちゃってるのが問題で、はじめっからVPN接続の際のDNSを設定しておけばよい、というわけ。

　RT57iのWeb設定ではDNSをVPNクライアントに割り振る項目がないのかなぁ？　ちょっと、記憶が定かではありませんが、ネットボランチのWebインタフェースの微妙な詰めの甘さを考えると十分あり得そう。

　とかなんとかでした。
　結局、学会に来てても仕事仕事仕事～。学会ネットワークを商用利用してたら怒られそうだなぁ。

procs stopped reporting (PURPLE)

　昨日LVSを導入した関係でhobbitをいじったのですが、今朝からそのうちの一台が妙なステータスになってしまったのですよ。でもって、こんなメールがきたぜ。

PURPLEってなんですか？　監視不可？？？　他と設定は同じなんだけどなぁ。結局、実害はなさそうだったので、Administration→Enable/disableで強制的にprocsを止めてしまったぜ。

　いまいちhobbitって挙動が理解できなかったりするんだよねぇ。

LVS快調

　ブログラのバナーサーバが重くて重くてしゃれになっていなかったのでサーバ追加をしました。残念ながらグローバルなIPが余っていなかったので、前々から気になっていたLVS(ipvsadm)のNAT構成でサーバ増設をしてみました。事前テストはしていたのでLVSの設定自体は問題なかったけど、ネットワーク回りで混乱混乱。現行のネットワークに新たにネットワークを追加するってのはなめちゃいかんのぉ。

　で、無事LVSサーバを稼働させてええ案配に負荷分散開始。が、2台でも負荷高め、、、むー、これ以上設置すると電源問題が、、、。でも、LVSサーバには全くと言っていいほど負荷がかかっていない事実に驚愕。ホントにこれなら20台くらいは余裕でいけそうじゃん？

　とかなんとかで、今日一日が終わってしまった、、、。原稿書かねば、メールも書かねば、システムも作らねば、、、明日の言語処理学会はあきらめましたー、ぐーぐるー！

　行きます、東京レッドハット会議。もー、Linuxとかに縁のない人が聞いたら、どんな怪しいイベントなんだろー、クラブイベント？　ちぇけらー！　とか思われたり。母親が聞いたらさぞかし心配するだろうなー、とか。それにしてもGPSコンサルタントってなんじゃいな？　このころにはCentOS5も出てるだろうなぁー。

パケットが落ちるなぁ

　某データセンター内のサーバへのpingが25%のpacket loss。うーん、メールが取り辛いなぁ。サービスを提供している会社のWebにも繋がりにくいみたいなので、けっこう上位のところでトラブッているようだ。それでも、その会社のサポートページには『正常』の表示が、、、。

LVS

　アキバでええ案配のサーバを４台購入して自宅にて繰り広げていた負荷分散実験ですが、LVSであっけなく構築できてしまって拍子抜け。本当は、bondingしてheartbeatでLVSを二重化、でもってldirectordで実サーバの監視とかしてみたいですが、環境及びリソースの問題でその辺りはまた今後の課題。とりあえず、LVS単体で複数webサーバへの負荷分散を実践します。というか、一刻も早く導入しなくちゃいけないものがあるのじゃよ。

qmail-smtpd

　なんだかさっきからsmtpのアラートが出ているのでチェックしてみると、qmail-smtpdがたくさん上がっててsmtp接続に時間がかかっている様子。大量のメールが来てるのかどうかわかりませんが、とりあえずサーバ負荷も上がっているわけではないのでconcurrencyincomingなる項目を設定。

　とかやってる間に、qmail-smtpdの数激減、、、。なんだろうなー。それにしてもconcurrencyincomingって全然ドキュメントの記述がない項目だなぁ。

[Hobbit] Got over-size message

　なんかアラートが送られてくるなぁと思って調べてみると、某サーバのprocsステータスが紫色に。おー、紫アラートはじめて見たー。と、感動してる場合じゃない、原因究明のためクライアントプローブが動いているサーバに急行ー。で、hobbitclient.logをチェックしてみるとこんなログが。

うーん、なんか見覚えがあるなぁ。そういえば、サーバ側でも同じようなログがhobbitd.logに出てた。

このときはgglった結果、hobbitserver.cfgにMAXMSG_STATUSを設定して一件落着してたのだ。じゃー、同じようにしてみようと思いクライアントプローブのhobbitclient.cfgに同様の記述をしてみる。が、状況は変らず相変わらず同様のログがはき出されますな。

　いろいろgglってみたけど回答が見えてこない。付属の文章も見てみるけど、わからんちん。なんかこの紫色のアラートは不気味なので（赤色の場合は不気味とか言ってる場合じゃないのだ）、気合いを入れてソースを見てみることに。

　で、まずはこのメッセージを吐いてる張本人を調べると、hobbitd_worker.cで発見。

トリガーとなってるのはmaxmsgsizeですか、そうですか。で、そいつを辿ると、

ははーん、こんなパラメーターで設定するのね。というわけで、2番目のMAXMSG_CLIENTをhobbitclient.cfgに設定してみると、無事解決～。

　と、思いきや、今度はサーバのhobbitdが黄色アラート。でもって、サーバ側にこんなログが、

サーバ側に送られるMSGのMAXを振り切ってるみたい。というわけで、サーバ側のMAXMSG_STATUSもさらにでかくしてみる。hobbitserver.cfgのMAXMSG_STATUSを変更して一件落着一件落着ぅー。

と記録され続けています。うーん、サーバとの連携部分じゃないのかなぁ。全然、クライアント側の設定はいじっていないのですが、いくつかデータがとれていない項目があるしなぁ。それに、メッセージを素直に読めば「messageがgetできない」って言ってるしなぁ...。うーん、こういうときは別のサーバにも入れて様子を見よう、そうしよう。

Hobbitのクライアントプローブ

　やー、この前インストールしたHobbitですが、サーバの設定は簡単だったのですが、クライアントのCPU負荷なんかをGetする為のクライアントプローブの設定ではまってしまいました。

　はじめはiptablesが悪さをしているのかと思いましたが、それははずれ。で、設定を色々いじったりしてみたのですが、こんなログが

　で、色々マニュアル文章を再読してみて、この記述を思い出す。

まず，Hobbitクライアントプローブをすべてのサーバにインストールしてください．bb-hostsにホストの一覧があるので，Hobbitクライアントは自動でホスト名を取得します，しかしbb-hostsとの名前が一致しないこともあります．そのため，クライアント名のデータが現れない場合は，Hobbitクライアントによって使われている名前とbb-hostsの名前が同じかをチェックしてください．詳細はこのFAQアイテムを見てください．

そのリンクの先が英語なのねー、とかださい理由で読んでなかったわけですが、チェックしてみたらあっさり。

The client is using another hostname than what is in the bb-hosts file. Hobbit only cares about the hosts that are in the bb-hosts file, and discards status-reports from unknown hosts. If you check the "hobbitd" column on the webserver display for the Hobbit server, you will see a report about these unknown hosts. Either reconfigure the client to use the same hostname as is in the bb-hosts file, or add a CLIENT:clienthostname tag in the bb-hosts file so Hobbit knows what host matches the client hostname. The Hobbit client can be started with a "--hostname=MYHOSTNAME" option to explicitly define the hostname that the client uses when reporting data to Hobbit.

だそうです。というわけで、クライアントプローブ起動時にbb-hostsで書かれているクライアント名を指定して起動したら、あっさりWebインタフェースにCPU等に関する項目が登場。

　やー、マニュアルはちゃんと読みましょう。

snmpにはまる

　朝からsnmpの設定をしているけどどうにもはまってしまった。動いているはずなのに。

設定は間違ってないはずだが、、、。今日は格闘を続けることになりそうだ、、、。

　あ、さくらインターネットに依頼していた新サーバも昨日から運用開始していたのでした。色々やりたいので今回はPostfixを使用予定。うーん、こっちもはまりそう、、、。

　あ、確定申告せねば。

Hobbit

　サーバ監視ツールHobbitをインストールしてみた。CentOS4.4ではrrdtoolが無いぜとのことでソースをゲットしてきてコンパイルしてみるもエラー。原因を探る余裕がなかったので、公式サイトから下記のrpmをゲット＆インストール。

でもって、再びHobbit本体をコンパイル。yumに居るみたいですが、なぜかコンパイル。何が何でもコンパイル。無事、コンパイル＆インストール完了。

　早速監視開始。おー、結構お手軽設定だなぁ。いろんなところでパケットをドロップしている関係で、その辺りの調整を諸々。とりあえず、サーバは簡単に設定できた。

　で、続いてCPU等を監視するクライアント。おー、某ディストリビューションでは簡単にコンパイルできたー。が、そこで致命的なことに気づく。Hobbitのクライアントデータは、サーバから取りに来るわけじゃなく、クライアントがサーバにデータを送るタイプなのね、、、。ローカルネットワークにサーバを置いてるので色々めんどいなぁ。現時点でも、VPNで接続しないと監視画面を見ることができないし、やっぱ外部に置くべしですな、むひひ。

自宅サーバ

　なんだか、会社の電源が不足していることに対する解決を先延ばしにすべく、自宅にサーバを４台投入しました。ちょっと、電源投入後の騒音に驚きましたが、ブート後は静かだなぁ。なんか、色々計算させるとやっぱうるさくなるのだろうか...。

　とりあえず、httpdとPostgreSQLの負荷分散試験。自宅の電気代がどこまで上がっちゃうか不安ですが...。

　こんなメッセージが出てますよ。

軽くgglったらこんなページを発見。うちのサーバは30000じゃなかったですが、とりあえずこいつを増やして事なきを得た。って、こんな適当に数字をいじっちゃってよいモノか不安なのであとから調べよう。

終わらないrsync

　昨日調べた機能を使って、出社直後より某サーバから大量にデータをrsyncし始めました。が

--bwlimit=50

とかで始めちゃったので、転送に時間がかかるかかる。それでも、現時点で3GByte。全体で47GByteなので、来週中にはなんとか終わるのではなかろうか...。

pgpool-II

　色々なシーンでDBの限界にぶち当たり始めていることもあり、うちがメインで使っているPostgreSQLの負荷分散（と一言で書くと語弊を招きますが）を実現すべくpgpoolを再度検討し始めました。

　pgpooｌ自体はコネクションプール機能に期待して利用していた時期がありましたが、微妙に不安定な状態を何度か経験した後、利用は中止していました。で、昨年頃から開発が始まっていたpgpool-IIが秋に完成したのを思い出して急に調べ始めたわけです。

　まー、pgpool(pgpool-I)とpgpool-IIだと全然違うアプリケーション（ミドルウェア）なわけで、既に運用を開始しているデカイシステムに突然ぶち込むのは不安なのでテストをしてみるべく検討中です。ただ、そのテストをするためにどの程度のハードを準備するのがベストなのか判断に苦しんでいます。公式サイトのベンチマークの例なんかブレード10台を使って、1台をコントローラ、残り9台をノードにしていますからね...。最低でも3台くらいでは試したいところですが、どの辺りのハードを揃えたらよいのかもわからない始末...。うーん、金も余ってるわけじゃないからなぁ。

　で、なぜかこのpgpool-IIは最初のリリース以降、活発にリリースが進んでいるとは言い難い状況だったりして、それが所謂qmail1.03状態なのかそうではないのか判断できなかったりします。

　でも、仕事に比較的余裕があるうちに試すが吉。とりあえず、前に進んでみましょう。積極的に人柱になりませう。

rsyncで転送レート制限したい[解決]

　あるサーバから大量のデータをrsyncで取り寄せようとしているのですが、転送レートの制限をしないとサーバ管理会社に怒られそうだったりするわけです。じゃー転送レートを制限してみようと思ったのですが、rsyncのオプションにはそんな便利なモノは実装されておらんのじゃよ。scpには、こんなオプションがあるのにね。

-l limit
Limits the used bandwidth, specified in Kbit/s.

gglっても回答は出てこない。どうしようかなぁ。とりあえず、公式でもチェキるか。あー、英語でggl能力が必要だのぉ。

　そっこー、追記。バカでした、ちゃんとmanに載ってました。

--bwlimit=KBPS limit I/O bandwidth; KBytes per second

で、実際にそいつをつけて実行です。

rsync -avz --bwlimit=100 -e ssh xxx.xxx.xxx:/xxx/xxx /xxx/xxx
...
sent 26616 bytes received 2262398 bytes 89765.25 bytes/sec

あっけなくできました...。みなさん、manはちゃんと読みましょうね、絶対に書籍を漁るより確実。

Hatenaがご近所さんに

　Hatenaの伊藤さんのHatena::Diaryから、Hatenaのサーバたちがうちもメインで使っているさくらインターネットに移行してきたとのこと。ひえー、さくらインターネットすげー。MixiにGREEにHatenaですか、そこにうちのサービスも...って、ブログラのサーバたちは下北沢の事務所にいたんだった、B-Flets。

　で、さくらに移行する判断基準を聞いてちょっと安心。やっぱ、そうですよね、そうですよ。これでクライアントを説得できる材料が増えたぜ、うひひ。この前までKDDIを使っていた関係で、やっぱそういうブランド力の重みを思い知りましたけど、わかる人たちはわかる。

　品質って一言では難しいですが、10年近く数々のデータセンターを使った経験から言わせてもらえばさくらインターネットのiDCのコストパフォーマンスはピカイチだと思う。と、それも今の時点でという感じになっていくのかもしれませんけどね。

　ちなみに、伊藤さんが書かれてる、

あと、さくらインターネットの社長の笹田さんが MMORPG の EverQuest (以下EQ) オタクで、同社の主なメンバーは EQ のギルドで一緒にやってた仲間から集めたとか言ってまして、同じくヘビーに EQ にはまっていた僕とシンパシーを感じまくったというのも選定の理由です。いや、選定の理由だったのは嘘。

には吹き出してしまった。ちなみに、うちがさくらを選定した理由の数パーセントは、知人の行きつけのお店がさくらのスタッフの行きつけのお店でと飲み仲間、なんていう不謹慎な理由もあったり無かったり。いや、選定の理由だったのは嘘（笑）。

　ちなみに、KDDIからさくらへの移行記なんてつける余裕無かったぜー。たった一人でサーバ数台とルータを移動させてDNSの設定やら何やらを２時間でやるという無茶な思い出、思い出したくない...。

　と、そんなことを書いているこのサーバもさくらには入ってないサーバなんですけどね........。

　RHEL4でパッケージとは別でwebalizerをインストールしようとしたら、

と、言われます。あれ、libpngが居ないのかなぁ？　と思って、調べてみると

ありゃ、いるじゃん、みたいなー。libのpathをconfigオプションでつけてみたりしたけど事態かわらずー。で、いろいろ悩んでたんですが、ふとlibpng自体が欲しいんじゃなくってコンパイルのときのヘッダとかがほしいんじゃない？　とか思って、png系のパッケージを調べてみると、

　なんか、tar.gzな時期に一番サーバをいじってたので今でもrpmでパッケージを作り直すのは不得意な感じ。でも、RHELとか使ってるんだから、なるべくそっちの流儀に沿ったほうが後々問題が起きないはずなんだけどねぇ。

【全面訂正】（旧：NTT東日本の馬鹿）

　当初、下記のようなエントリを書き込みましたが、本日その全てが誤りであったことが判明しました。一方的な意見を書いてしまいNTT東日本様にご迷惑をおかけいたしました。ここで謝罪すると共に訂正記事をアップさせていただきました。

　とか、書いてあるとNTT東日本御中にクレームをつけられたかのような印象がありますが、そんなこたーありませんぜ。それなら、エントリさら消すってなぁ。単純に自分に対する戒めと共に、bit-driveのポジションはNTTと対してかわらねぇなぁってことですよ。あ、そっか、bit-driveってさーSONYじゃんねー、納得。

　やー、久々にBフレッツの障害に当たっちまったぜ。

　なんか、アクセスできるサイトと出来ないサイトがあるなぁ、と思ってたら回線異常のアラートが来た。って、ちょっと待てよ、このアラート先のネットワークを通って検知メールが送られてきたという、イヤーな展開。とりあえず、色々探ってみるけど、届く先と届かない先の２種類なパケットがわんさか。しょうがないので、プロバイダのbit-driveに電話してみると、「あー、NTT東日本さんの部分でなにかおきてるみたいです」とのこと。それではというわけでNTT東日本の故障担当に電話をしてみたら、留守電だし、、、。とりあえず状況を入れて電話を切ったですよ。

　で、電話を切って5分後には自然復旧ー。そして、そんなことをつらつらとブログに書いていたら、NTT東日本から電話。「えー、切れてるんですか？」とか聞いてくるから、色々答えたんだけど結局「こちらでは異常を検知できないです」とかだよー、きたー！　この馬鹿、馬鹿、ハゲ！

　結局原因不明。でも、bit-driveのサポートとうちの判断的にはやっぱNTTっぽさ満点です。うーん、やっぱB-Fletsは危ういんだということを再認識いたしました。ふへー。

泣きっ面に

　大雨の中、びしょびしょにぬれながら自転車で自宅まで帰ったんですよ、ええ。で、すぐにシャワーを浴びて一息ついてたら、こんどは携帯にアラートが、、、おいおい、事務所のネットワークに到達しないぜ、べいべー！　しゃれになってないので、すぐさま車を飛ばしてまいりましたよ。落雷とかで電気が着てないとか、落雷で建物が火事になってるとか、落雷でくるくるパーになった親父が電柱を倒したとか、、、。まー、色々考えながら戻ってきたら全然電気が切れた様子はない。急いで事務所まで上がると、はぁ？　ＵＰＳが止まってるぜ、、、なんかさー、電気が止まったわけじゃないのになんでＵＰＳがとまるのさ？？　もー、わからん、わしゃー、わからん。

　しょうがないんでイエローハットに行ってオイル交換してやる、覚えてろよ！

　なんか、新データセンターのサーバ君にFTPがつながらないなぁと思ってみてたんだよねー。xNATな世の中だけにgt 1023をあけておかねばならないわけですが、ちゃんと空いてるしなぁ。と、頭を抱えていたらなんかその1023ポート君の前方にudpなる文字列が...。まったく、もー、どうしようもねーなー。とか。

　なんかCentOSでDNSを設定してたら意味不明のメッセージが出た。

SlaveのDNSなんですけど、最初はMaster側のネットワークのFirewallかiptablesの問題かと思ったんだけどどうも違う感じ。で、ちょっと調べてみたら/var/namedあたりのオーナーの問題と判明。あれー、フツーにインストールしててオーナーが違ってるってどういうことですかな。というわけで、適切なオーナーを設定して無事完了....と思ったら、やっぱFirewallとiptablesもぶつかってた...。再設定開始。

　qmailをインストールして、tcpserver経由でsmtpを立ち上げようとすると、

とか言われて起動しない。はじめは、tcpのrulesがおかしいのかと思ったんだけど、どうも違う感じ。で、gglってみてこんなページを発掘。

で、touchしてみて再度起動にチャレンジするとあっさり起動しちまったぜ。ちなみに、この/etc/dnsrewriteってファイルなんですが、qmailと同じ作者のDNS、djbdnsで使われているファイルのようなのですが、詳細不明...。

　そうそう、qmailといえば最近のディストリビューションでコンパイルするとエラーになっちゃうんだよねー。そいつの原因はglibcのバージョンらしくて、ここでパッチ(patch)を提供してくれています。

しかし、もうqmailを使ってる人ってあんまりいないのかなぁ？　すごく扱いやすくて便利なのに...。

SunSITE 終了

東京理科大のSunSITEがサービス終了へ

　私がサラリーマン時代に会社で使っていたOSがSolarisで、SunSITEには本当にお世話になったミラーでした。昼間は混み合っているので、夜中にアクセスしようとすると、全く同じことを考えている奴がいてやっぱり混んでたりしたなぁ、なつかしい。Linux中心な生活になってからは、あまりアクセスすることもなくなっちゃいましたが、たまにソースからコンパイルなときはちょくちょく訪れていただけに残念。

　本当に、おつかれさまでした、そしてありがとう。

PowerEdge 2950 & PowerEdge 1950

　某サイトのサーバでPowerEdge 2850を使おうと思っていたら、今日になってPowerEdge 2950なんてのが発売されていることに気付いた。まだ、出たばかりで高いんだけど、スペック的に使ってみたいものが満載なので、こっちに変更しようか思案中。が、そいつにすると、コスト的にきつくなっちゃうんだよねー。で、同時に出たPowerEdge 1950に心変わり。よくよく考えればディスクの量より、CPUパワーのほうが絶対に必要なサービスだからねー。

　デュアルコアXeonとかSASなんてぜひともいじってみたいところ。やー、こりゃ決まりですな、AMEXの事前承認で梃子摺ったおかげですな、むひ。

私の感想はこんな感じ。

いろいろな問題をごっちゃにしすぎていませんか？　セキュリティにおける脆弱性を見つけるためにオープンソースが存在しているわけではないのですが、、、。それ以前に脆弱性のレベルの低さに、開いた口がふさがりません。

残念ながらネットシステム構築を行う企業としての最低レベルを超えていない会社の方の意見を記事とする、このサイトの姿勢に疑問を感じざるを得ません。

　昨日のこの件、欲を出してServerNameにワイルドカードで設定したらダメだった～。というわけで、ServerNameにServerAliasの条件に合致するホスト名を設定して完了。やー、やばいねこれ、やりたい放題じゃん、とか。

ServerAliasにもワイルドカードが使える

　某案件でWeb経由でユーザ登録を行うと自分用のサブドメインを使える、ってな感じの仕組みを作る必要が出てきました。

　既に、Bindはワイルドカードが使えることが判明していたので、apacheの設定を考えてみました。すぐにapacheのVirtualHostをガンガン設定してガンガン再起動、という全く美しくない手法を思いつきましたが、なんかもうちょっとシンプルにいけないかなぁと思ってApacheクックブックで調べてみると、ずばりそのものな感じの奴がありました。ひとつは、mod_vhost_aliasですが、これは標準では入ってなさげ。で、もうひとつのmod_rewriteを使う方法で対応できるなぁ、と思ったわけですがここであることに気づきました。

　実はそのサービスは自分用のサブドメインが使えるとはいっても、自由にコンテンツを置くわけじゃなくって動的にページを生成するタイプなんで、Rewrite先って実は同一ディレクトリなんですよね。となると、RewriteなんてしなくてもVirtualhostのServerAliasとかにワイルドカードが使えれば一件落着だよなぁ、と思って調べてみたらどうやら使えるみたいですよ*が。結局、Bindと同様の*で簡単対応ＯＫな気分ね。

　はー、もっとちゃんとApacheを理解してないといけないねぇ。頑張ろう。

Nucleus文字化けぇ～

うい、なんかNucleusが文字化けまくりですぜ。もともと、MySQLは滅法弱い（？）ほうなのでそのあたりかなぁと思いつつ調べてたらビンゴですよ。

Nucleus(JP)フォーラム Forum Index -> インストール時の問題 -> 文字化け？
あまり、気持ちは良くないのですが、一応解決しました。 藤咲さんのアドバイスから、あちこち探し回り、結局ここのフォーラムで解決策を見つけました。 ｍｙｓｑｌのクライアントやｍｙｓｑｌのライブラリを、色々コンパイルしてみたり、 my.ini をいじってみたり。本来なら、それで解決するんでしょうが、私の知恵と力の無さが露見して、ことごとく失敗。 FreeBSDを使っていて、出来ればportsで処理したいと考えたのも無理はあるんですが・・・←言い訳です。 で結局 /nucleus/libs/globalfunctions.php をいじりました。 設定やクライアントライブラリでクライアントのキャラクタセットが指定できないなら、プログラムで接続時に指定してしまえって事です。 改造は connect　のファンクションに、１行追加

あー、MySQLぅ～

　そして、今度はまったく別の話。某クライアント様のサイトで、Movable Typeを大量に組み合わせてサイトを構築しようと思ってたんだけど、真面目にラインセンス費用を払うととんでもない状態になりそうな気配だったので、っていうかMovable Type Enterpriseを使わないといけないので、思わずNucleusに逃げようと思ったわけですよ。が、こいつ、超MySQLオンリー対応だしぃ～。気合でPostgreSQL使ってる方もいらっしゃるようですが、やっぱ怖いよなぁ。話が横にそれますが、そのクライアント様のDBサーバはPostgreSQLなのさー。OracleからPostgreSQLにDBサーバを変更したら超速くなった。

　でもって、それではCMSのPloneに逃げるのはどう？　って思ったんですが、PHPが先住民のところに、PythonなZopeなPloneを入れるって、なんか嫌くない？　まー、Zopeはhttpdでもあるので、ApacheなPHPとの競合問題はおきないのでしょうが、やっぱ怖い気がする。

　とかなんとか、どうしようかねぇ。

やヴぁいなー、ブログラのロギングあぱっち！

なんだか、わからない人には単なる落書きのようなタイトル。

そうそう、ブログラのアパッチサーバがやばげになってきました。やっぱ、月間３億ページビューは伊達じゃないねぇ。が、なんかリソースを眺めてるとメモリー足りまへん的だということに感づく。ぐへー、あのマシンってメモリがイヤーな感じの、高ぁい感じのDDR2だった気が...。うちの会社金ないんだよねぇ～、５月は消費税も払わないとだしぃ。まー、いつものごとく自分の給料カットで買っちまいますか、むへへ。

社員がいなくなった今だから言えるけど、俺自分の給料なんて１年以上まともに出てないことに気づいたぜ、ぷへー。

554 DUL error

　なんか、ブログラでメールが届かないってのが妙に気になってちょっとログを調べてみた。そうそう、ブログラのサーバはqmailじゃなくってPostfixね（実は手抜き）。でもって、こんなのを見つけた。

なんじゃこりゃ？　っていうか、554 DUL errorって何さ？　で、親切丁寧にURLがあったんでチェックしてみるとこんな記載が。

CLUB BBQに届かないなど、お客様から連絡があった。また、迷惑メール対策を進めている通信事業者／ネットサービスの皆様へ CLUB BBQでは迷惑メール対策ポリシーの元に迷惑行為と断定したメールの受信制限を行っております。 ■届かない事例

○ 動的IP類からの送信
・ 動的IPは管理できていない逆引きのないIPと同等と評価します。

451 DUL error
→ 貴方の逆引きホスト名をチェックすると、動的IPであるかのように見えるため、一時受け取りを拒否を行いました。
RFC推奨に従い、再送を試行してください。

そっかー、そういうことをしてる会社もあるんだねぇ。厳しいけど、まっとうだな。それでユーザから文句が出ていないんだったら十分ありなんだろう。っていうか、メールサーバ管理者としては同意できる。が、自分の管理サーバが対応してないってのはだめだなぁ。

　というわけで、とりあえずホワイトリスト申請＆逆引き設定をすべく（設定はされているけど、メール送信時に伝えてるホスト名とは違う）申し込みですぜ、てへっぇ。

アクセス解析

　朝っぱらからMTとwebalizerを行ったり来たりです、てへ。

　なんか、うちのお客さんにはwebalizerを無料でインストールしてるわけですが、やっぱ足らない部分がたくさんあるわけなんだよねwebalizerじゃ。でも、アクセス解析ツールってフリーなものの上って、いきなりすげー値段の奴らが多くて、しかもビミョーに痒いところに手が届かない状態なんだよなぁ。自分で作っちゃうのも手なんだけど、perlで書いちゃうと数Ｇみたいなアクセスログを裁くのは問題なんだよねぇ。

　というわけで、いくつかツールを見てみるべかのぉ。webalizer意外だとanalogとか、有償な奴だとUrchinとかWebtrendsとか？　あー、全然情報不足じゃのぉ、いろいろ探ってみるべし。って、もー、ドンだけ時間があってもたらんねぇ。でも、猫の手レベルなスタッフに検証させても遊ばせてるだけにしかならなかったからなぁ、結局自分でやるのが一番手っ取り早いんだよねぇ。

0mniFindってなんだろ(0は正確にはO)。
なんかうちのお客様のWebに大量アクセスがあったんでそのIPアドレスのログをみてみると、Agentには0mniFindとだけ書かれてる。でもって、ちょっとgglったらこんなの見つけた。検索エンジンか。でもって、そのIPアドレスをwhoisしてみると...あら、お客様の親会社のネットワークな気分。とは言ってもこれクラスＢのネットワークじゃん。

うーん、対応が難しいけど一応報告すべきなんだろうなぁ。

ディスクが飛びました

　ぬぉぉ～、ディスクが飛びました、消えました、fsckでいやーなメッセージが出ちゃいました。

　というわけで、直近のバックアップでなんとか復旧です。やー、乗り換え寸前だったけど、もうちょっと前に気づけばよかった～。MOVABLETYPEの障害じゃなくってディスク障害だったのねん、ぐすん。

　やー、ハ○ウリの出展者さん向けに売り上げをオンラインで確認するシステムを作ったんですね。で、さっきそのアナウンスをしたんだけど、早速「つながらないぜー」という問い合わせが。EZwebのアドレスだったんで、携帯からだとつながらない？　とか思って調べてみると、『このサイトは安全でない可能性があるため接続できません』とか表示されてほんとにつながらない。

　実はSSLの有効期限が切れていたので、それをソッコー更新してＯＫ～とか思ってたんだけど、やっぱりつながらないとのこと。もしかしたら、EZweb側で有効期限切れ証明書をキャッシングしてるのかなぁとか思ってたんだけど、調べてみると衝撃的な事実が。

　某サイトのwebalizerの設定をしていて気づいたんだけど、Referrer SPAMがすげーいるんだなぁ。なんか、むかついたので一気に消し去ろうと思ってログを追っていったら出てくる出てくる。やっぱgTLD系のドメインにはこの手のSPAMを大量に受けちゃうんだねぇ。というわけで、とりあえずうちに記録されていた人たちさようなら的リスト公開。さらば馬鹿カジノ。

.qmail-　の後ろに.(ドット)を使いたくなった時

　やー、qmailはホームディレクトリに.qmail-の後に文字列を書いたファイルを置いておくだけで、メールアドレスが作れちゃう便利な仕組み（拡張アドレス[dot-qmailの使い方]）がある訳ですが、その文字列の部分に.(ドット)を使おうとすると何故だか.qmailが機能しないんだよねぇ。で、マニュアルにそれらしい事は書いてあるんだけど、

警告: qmail-localは安全のためにext中の点(dot)はすべてコロン(colon)で置き換えてから.qmail-extを調べます。 また、使用の便宜のため、ext中の英大文字は英小文字に変換します。

この日本語って分かりにくいよねぇ。単純に拡張アドレスを使う場合は.(ドット)は:(コロン)に置き換えて下さい、って書いてくれればいいのにねぇ。っていうか、そりゃ翻訳の問題か...。ちなみに、メールアドレスに:(コロン)を含んでいる場合はどうしたらよいのだろう、ってメールアドレスに:(コロン)なんて使えないか(調べるの面倒臭い)。

昨日からパケットがロスるぜ

　昨日からうちの会社に引っ張ってるB-Fletsのパケットがロスるなぁ。pingで確認してみると、10%程度のロスもあるわけですが、それ以上にリーチタイムが異様に不安定。ほとんどの場合20msecでいけてる（YBB経由はほぼ20msec）のに、たまに500msecとかになるんだよなぁ。でもって、ロスしちゃう感じ。なんだろー、ブログラのロギングサーバに大量アクセスかなぁ？　実はアクセスログが１日でGByte単位でたまっちゃうので、うちのサーバ君たちじゃ解析しきれなかったりするんだよねぇ。あー、こういうときの為に速いーサーバ君が欲しいねぇ、金がねぇっての。bit-driveとかNTT東に聞こうかと思ったけど、標準状態でもYBBよりリーチタイムが遅いのはおかしいので、ちょっとアクセスログを解析してからにしよう。あ"ー、でもその解析するサーバがいねぇってなぁ～、ぷへー。

　今年はここまでTurbolinux贔屓な一年をすごしていたわけですが、ここにきてTurbolinuxの弱点というかダメな部分がいろいろ見えてきた。基本はRedHat系な訳ですが、細かい部分でTurbolinuxのエンジニアががんばってしまった結果、微妙にコンパイルできないアプリがあるわけですな。でも、コンパイルなんてしない状況でサーバを使い続けることも重要なわけで、ある意味自分を納得させてきやしたのですぜ。

　が、ここ最近のCentOSの台頭にはなにかほって置くと痛い目にあいそうな気配が濃厚で、今になってCentOSをインストールしてみたりしています。やー、チープなRHELって感じ。AT-LINKがRHEL ESが無償提供になって、今のAT-LINKサーバの後継機として使い始めてて、本当はRHELで揃えたいところなんだけど、Turbolinux 10 Serverを選択したりしていたわけで、やっぱここはCentOS使ってみようと思ったわけさ。KDDIに借りてるデータセンターも、さすがの通信回線のコストパフォーマンスの悪さにSAKURA INTERNETに移転を決めたこともあり、新たに超低消費電力型なサーバを2台ほど導入したわけですが、そいつのOSが決まらんのだよ。今のところ、Turbolinux 10 Serverが超有力候補ではあるのですがね...。

　というわけで、やる気が無くてもrootな作業は続行ー。会社の電力も不安な日々が続いているので、年末にでも電気を完全に落として一斉点検をするべしするべし。

きついですぅー２

　やー、サーバ周りがそろそろリプレイスの時期なので状況把握に勤しんでいるわけですが、とにかく複雑だー。クライアントさんの要望重視でなんでもかんでも条件を飲んでいると、あとから訳がわからん状態になるんだなぁ、という最たる例かも。

　これまでも、一人で300ドメインの移転とかやってるわけですが、今回の方がきついかも。ちなみにドメインは100前後。メールアカウントは300アカウントくらいでしょうか...。

　大体、サーバOSの選定で再度もめてるのも問題だぁ。ほんとうは、Turbolinux 10 Serverのつもりだったけど、けっこう方言がきつくてやっぱCentOSとかにしようかと。

クローンOSはなんだかんだいって胡散臭さが付きまとっていたわけですが、勘違いだったと言い切れるような状況になってきてるからねぇ。友人がRedHatに居るってのも、なんかクローンOSに乗り換えにくかった理由だったり。

凹んでいても障害は発生する

　なんか、httpdが死んでるくさいアラートが出たのだけど、ハコ○リの店番中で出られない。とりあえず、sshでDNSを変更、ダミーサーバにアクセスするように修正。でもって、ウリ子ちゃんが着たので事務所で原因解析。あれ？　httpdは生きてるけどたくさーん。でもって、httpd restartしてみるも、やっぱりいっぱいになっちゃう。あー、こりゃDBがくさいなーと思い、DB serverを見てみるけど、PostgreSQLもpgpoolも元気だぜ。うーん、なんだろと思って何の気なしにdf -kしてみると...おいおい、/usrが100%やんけ！　そもそも、このサーバはDBは/dbにいるはずなんだけど...。あ、このまえ再起動したときに、スタッフが間違えて-D /dbしなかったと推測。ライブリハ中のスタッフ（ミュージシャン）に無理やり連絡、やっぱ推測どおり。2ndのサーバにDB先を変更して、なんとか復旧。ふいー。なんだか、いろいろ監視してないと、ちょっとの変更で大事件になっちゃうなぁ。

Courier-imapで悩む

　某案件でWebmailを設定する感じな奴があったわけですな。で、さすがにUW-IMAPじゃーねー、だいたいqmailでMaildirを使うんだったらダメジャン、見たいな気分でCourier-imapをIMAPをインストールしたわけですが、これがとんでもなくはまってしまったのじゃよ。

　そもそもIMAPサーバを構築する系の書籍はぜーんぶ古い奴が多かったりして、その中では群抜きに発行日が新しい『qmail完全解説―qmailを使ったセキュアなメールサーバの構築』を参考にしてみたんですが、この本超曲者です。とりあえず、そんなにバージョンが違っているとは考えにくかったのですが、書かれたとおりのインストール方法では微妙に起動しないdaemonがいるようです、っていうか誤植とか誤解が多すぎない？　この書籍。

　で、悩んだ結果 /var/log/maillog にこんなものが、

うーん、なんかそのままの通りでauthdaemond が動いていないんですなー。って、authdaemondってなんだよー、と考えていたらCourier-imap用の認証daemon君だった。find / -name "authdaemond"とかしてみたら、

/usr/local/libexec/courier-authlib/authdaemond

こんなところに居たので起動してみる。おー、入れた入れたー。ったく、なんだかめんどいのぉ。実は、このサーバのIMAPはWebmail(SquirrelMai)でしか使わないので、認証なんてどうでもいいやと思っていたのが失敗の原因でした、イェッツ！

とりあえず、復活

やー、なんとか復活ー。でも、本店のネットワークが死んだままだから、確実にうちの機器の問題じゃなくって回線か上位プロバイダの問題だなー。やっぱ、B-Fletsって怖いよね。故障窓口に連絡したら、留守番電話だし........いねや。

帰って寝る、もー、ただでさえ寝不足だったのにぃ～。
